          Sub-series consists of correspondence, programmes, schedules, scrapbooks, and photographs belonging to Ralph Davies and Sharkey MacDonald (Charles MacDonald), former Cape Breton Highlanders and World War 2 (WW2) veterans, who were chosen to be delegates for the “30th Anniversary: The Canadians in Italy” delegation sent to Italy to commemorate the Italian Campaign and the 30th anniversary of the liberation of Italy. Delegates visited memorials, battlefields, and war cemeteries and took part in cultural and religious ceremonies to mark the occasion.

          A poster which shows a painting, signed in the right corner by C. Habicht, of the RMS Olympic. The RMS Olympic was a near replica ship of the Titanic, which transported thousands of troops from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Britain during the first world war. It was later used for tourism purposes.

          Item is a handwritten diary kept by Annie Whitfield while she travelled to various cities in Russia, Ukraine and Georgia, while serving as a delegate for the Canadian Women’s Working Delegation to Russia. In the diary she writes about the history of communism in the Soviet Union, keeps track of statistics about workers and industry in the places they visit versus pre-1917 Revolution numbers, writes about the roles of women, recalls conversations and meetings with other delegates, lists the food she ate and outlines cultural events that the delegation attended.

          Album consists of a series of photographs taken at a the Braune Messe (Jewish Goods / Merchant Boycott Fair) intended to encourage boycott of Jewish made goods and Jewish merchants. The event took place in Quedlinburg, Germany between September 30 - October 3, 1933. The images feature members of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nazi Party) the year the party came into power. Also included in the album are a series of newspaper clippings and unidentified family photographs.
