Bird, giving thanks to legion members for an invitation to their banquet, opening of a new school in Ingonish, opening speech for the third annual meeting of organized festival of song and speech, opening speech for the launch of the Baddeck Lions Club’s new Alexander Graham Bell Park and the opening of a new rural high school in Victoria County. File also consists of a column called “MacMillan’s Memories” in a Newsletter for Victoria County called “Lantern Light” detailing memories that Dr. MacMillan had written down over the years and a piece called “Baddeck Group of Alcoholics Anonymous It’s History”, which states that Dr. MacMillan was vital in facilitating AA meetings.

The second speech is regarding the history of the Scottish Catholic Society of Canada and its Glace Bay Branch, Saint Margaret. It is dated 1942.
