He writes that he has no intention of getting engaged to anyone, one of the reasons being that he has recently been sent to a new station and is now on the 431 “Iroquois” Squadron and doing active operations, which he asks her to not tell his family.

Karrel starts planning a meeting with Glickman while the two of them are passing through Montreal on July 9, 1943 on their way home to Cape Breton, he for a two week leave and she returning from a trip to New York City.

He writes that “nothing new or drastic is happening at all” and that he is hoping to go on leave within the next week. It was his last letter to the family before his death on July 29, 1944.
