Part of Dr. C. Lamont MacMillan Fonds

Item consists of a speech given by Dr. MacMillan at the third annual meeting of organized festival of song and speech. It is a three-day long festival in Baddeck where 16 school sections of the county compete. Dr. MacMillan mentions how the festival is sponsored by Home & School and how the very first Home & School Association in all of Canada was organized in Baddeck. He gives special credit to Mrs. Freda Jones, the circuit music teacher who organized the festival as well as Mr. Jame MacKinnon, a school inspector who has helped to develop said festival and Mr. Donald Wetmore and Mrs. J.W. Walshman, both from the department of education who were to act as judges.
