Item consists of a speech given by Dr. MacMillan welcoming a man from Scotland to Cape Breton. He has come to Cape Breton for the annual Gaelic Mod Festival in Baddeck. Dr. MacMillan talks about the similarities between Scotland and Cape Breton as well as the predominant highland and Gaelic culture in parts of Cape Breton.

Item consists of a speech given by Dr. MacMillan on Friday September 9th, 1966. The title of the speech is, “Remarks of Dr. C. L. MacMillan M.L.A. Victoria, made in the Nova Scotia legislature on second reading of a bill entitled an act to amend chapter 156 of the acts of 1910, an act to incorporate the Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Limited".

Item consists of Lantern Light No. 8, which was the Newsletter of Victoria County Memorial Hospital Charitable Foundation and in this newsletter is a column titled, "MacMillan's Memoirs", in this segment Dr. MacMillan recounts the time that he was in such a rush to get back to Baddeck from Sydney, because he knew that there was no doctor there, that he forgot his wife in Sydney and only remembered when he was nearly halfway back to Baddeck.

Item consists of Lantern Light No. 6 which was the newsletter for Victoria County Memorial Hospital Charitable Foundation and in the newsletter is a column called "MacMillan's Memoirs", in this edition Dr. MacMillan recounts the time when one of his patients mistakenly took iodine instead of the cough mixture that he had left.

Item consists of Lantern Light No. 10, which is the Newsletter of Victoria County Memorial Charitable Foundation and in this newsletter is a column called, "MacMillan's Memoirs", in this segment Dr. MacMillan recounts a time when his daughter Connie was visiting his sister and she had threw her a party in order to meet some children her age and the other little girls were talking about their father's but Connie didn't know what to say until she remembered that her father "has the biggest overdraft in the Royal Bank of Canada" than any other man in Baddeck.

Dr. Bird was speaking at this event about the arrival of John Cabot and the planting of the flag of King Henry VII in that very spot where the event was held. Dr. Bird had a vast knowledge of pioneers and early settlers which Dr. MacMillan acknowledges.

Dr. MacMillan describes the beauty of Ingonish as well as the abundance of community spirit which he attributes to the success of the creation of the school. He also addresses the children in attendance and acknowledges how fortunate they are to have a school at their disposal.

File consists of a card detailing a commemoration scroll given to Dr. MacMillan in honor of his thirty-five years as a physician, clippings about Dr. MacMillan, tributes dedicated to Dr. MacMillan after his passing, including a radio tribute. File also consists of a speech given by Dr. MacMillan Jr talking about the life of his father before and after he became a physician and a speech given by Senator Henry Hicks on Dr. C.L. MacMillan.

Dr. MacMillan replaced the Minister of Health, Mr. Harold Connolly at the grand opening of the North Victoria Hospital. Mr. Connolly was not able to make it and asked Dr. MacMillan to give the opening address instead.
