Clark, A. RhodenaItem is a photograph of The Carmel Centre in New Waterford, Cape Breton. The building was formerly used by the Congregation of Notre-Dame nuns in the late 1800s as a convent as well as a school for local miner's children. It later passed to the Sisters of Charity to use as a convent in the 1920s. The Sister's of Charity donated the building to the Carmel Centre Society in 1997.
