Biographical history
Peter F. Leaver was born in 1773. On 19 January 1806 he married Esther Jones. The couple resided in the Main-a-Dieu, N.S. area and had (at least) three children: Maria, Caroline Frances (1808-1896) and Elizabeth Sarah (1810-1903). Leaver served as a Justice of the Peace and a school teacher in Main-a-Dieu. He died in 1811.
Custodial history
Donated by Mrs. Roger Littlefield from Hingham, Massachusetts in 1978.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of correspondence to Elizabeth Leaver, Caroline Leaver and Peter Leaver from family (1804-1881). Also included is a letter to John Leaver from a lawyer in Halifax regarding the will of Jonathon Jones (1832).
