Biographical history

Alex Goldie was born 11 Jun 1915 in Newfoundland, and died 17 Dec 2004 in Halifax, NS.He was an able and consummate Gaelic singer and storyteller. He was raised by a Maclean family in Irish Vale, Cape Breton N.S. Goldie served as chief of police in Sydney, N.S. He also acted as head of Comunn nan Gaidheal, Sydney. Upon retirement Goldie moved to East Bay, N.S, where he spent his remaining years.
