Biographical history
Lauchlin Cyprian Gillis ('Lauchie Archie, or 'Lauchie Gillis') was a fine and well renowned Gaelic singer and storyteller in Grand Mira, N.S. He was the son of Archie Gillis and Mary Louise Gillis (Soldiers Cover, N.S). Lauchie was married to Jeanette Maclellan, relation to the famed bard Domhnaill "An Gobha" Maclellan . They established a homestead and farm in Grand Mira and had 11 children. A number of Lauchie's songs can be found on 'Songs of The Mira', released in 1985.
